Help with repainting door pillars

My door pillars are fading and I need to know how to remove them to paint. Also where can I get the right paint for it? I don't know the exact name of what it is I want to repaint so I included a pic of it.

If you still have the black vinyl over them, you can just peel it off. Underneath, it's body-colored. It's in the FAQs somewhere.

Black vinyl? Mine look like paint and I bought the car brand new from the dealer.

It's black vinyl tape.

For some reason, Nissan decided to paint the pillars body color, then apply a black vinyl tape over them. If the tape is beginning to fade, you can peel it off, and there's fresh paint underneath.

Thanks, it looks like I will be taking the vinyl off. Worst case is if I don't like it, I can always put vinyl back over the pillars.

It's gonna look as if you painted over the vinyl with body color paint. You should like it.
