I just got off the phone with the manager and he said that they are going to cover it in full. I guess the kid must have owned up to it, because he didn't ask any questions and just said that they would take care of it.

It'll be a few weeks before it gets fixed (due to the semester ending soon) but I am glad that they came through and owned up.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions, staying cool is definitely the way to be when trying to get your way.

And manny, the customer is not always right. The customer is alway stupid.

At least in my experience

But I'll disagree under one circumstance, Merely for the sakes of disagreeing of course. When moneys not an issue for them, its true! Let them be right, they dont care about the bill!

Orange peal from a bad paint job would be obvious as soon as the paint is dry.

OP: Yes, just talk to the manager and see what he says. That's the best way to start it out, just be nice and civil.
Agreed. My family owns and operated a shop (60 years in June) and if we let the customer always be right, we wouldn't' be in business. To many fleecy customers will kill a company outright. Working with customers is one thing, but downright doing whatever the customer wants is how to get trampled as an owner. On the contrary, its' critical to have honest and good employees as well. Sometimes these 'chain' oil change depots have floozy workers that often could care less about the care and concern of a car.

The best solution is to work with the company and never assume anything. Obviously the dent is new, but you cant' always just 'blame' it on a shop. It's an obvious mark, but you don't know where it may have happened.

Totally legal to video your car at all times. I can't think of the gentlemans name, but there is a Subaru WRX owner that has a full time survalence of his car, and it's quite the site to see.

X2. I'm glad it was resolved in a friendly manner. It's a shame the attendent didnt' own up to his damage, but that is life any more :/ No accountability from some people.

PS: Nice car!

That is great that they will take care of it. I went to get new tires and the guy broke one of my lug nuts and told me that I have to go fix it myself, which I ended up doing. damn shops
