Diagnostic Computers Work On The Maxima?

I was looking for a Code Reader, just to diagnose some problems on my car. But I was wondering if they work for the 95 model Maximas..

Theres 2 code readers im looking at to buy and both of which says that they work on most 1996 to present vehicles..

Heres the Equus 3100 its $90
http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3100-Inn...9742941&sr=1-5

And this is the Actron CP9125 Its $65
http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP9125-...pr_product_top

Both of these have 4+Stars in the reviews but most of the reviews don't specify the year/model of the car the people used them on..

Heres what the site says: "enabling you to read OBD II diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the on-board computers of 1996 and newer cars and light trucks"

So does anyone know if one of these would work on a 1995 Maxima? It would be great if someone with a good reasonably priced reader responded, or better yet, someone who owns one the above readers.. Thanks

i blieve most 96's should be obdII but it's possible that some early model 96's were obdI
and both those code readers are obdII

someone correct me if im wrong, but i guess just buy it, if it doesn't work take it back?

Read the top line of my sig.

And

Search, and you'll find all the info you ever need to know about the '95 being OBD-II compliant.

I figured posting would be quicker because I can just post it, leave the tab there. Do some other stuff, then come back 20 mins later to read the replies and there were sufficient enough replies generated within that 20 minute time-span enough to answer my question. Sorry..

This is not the place to talk about that.

Searching is much easier, and quicker.

I searched '1995 OBD-II scanner', first few hits:
http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...-l-obd-ll.html
http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...l-obd-2-a.html

etc. Takes 30 seconds.

I purchased the Scanguage II (www.scanguage.com) for about $170. Not just the standard ODBII reader to pull trouble codes, but also has a gauge feature where you can display 4 parameters simultaneously while driving real-time. For the Maxima, reads things like ignition timing, water temp, intake air temp, rpm, gallons-per-hour, miles-per-gallon, engine load, throttle position, closed or open loop O2 control, and many more. Comes with a nice long cable and some velcro, so you can stick the display up on the dash.

Bought it originally for my wife's Escape Hybrid. For the hydrid, you can set it to read state of charge, eCVT transmission temps, main battery voltage, and other hybrid-specific stuff instead of getting the $2700 add-on from the dealer.

Interestingly, seems to be popular in the Hybrid owner forum communities for the fuel mileage and battery status monitoring. Not too popular here based on my searches. But I've found it much more useful to troubleshoot the Maxima.

Works great. 2 minute setup out-of-the-box.

There are a couple of OBD II readers available on Ebay for about $35. I got mine there and it works perfectly on my 96 and on my 97

I got the Innova 3100c for about $40. on ebay. best part is that it tells you what the code means right on the computer. I think it worked on my '95. but it didn't have any codes, but the reader had codes stored from another car's cel. and it cleared when plugged into the max. I think the c version makes a difference.
