Cattman Headers owners - Please step in.

I picked up a Headers/Ypipe combo. Got a good deal on them, brand new, never installed. I am told they are Cattman, but want to confirm this to be true (or not!). Does anyone have pics of theirs? These look to be stainless, and they have the EGR port connector, but the ypipe is NOT equal length. I dont know if they are maybe early model Cattman, or a different brand altogether..?

I have been searching through old Cattman threads for the past 3 hours, and have picked up quite a bit of information, but no pictures! The Cattman website is currently limited and also not showing products/pictures. Hopefully someone can help me identify these headers..

Thanks..

How are the OBX headers, for fitment and performance gain, on the 4th gen Max? I am already running a Warpspeed ypipe.. will I see any difference at all?

Fittment sucks big hairy ones.

Even the newest gen (which i don't think those are) you have to modify the crossmember to make them fit.

Ya probably shoulda looked it up before buying though. Sorry man.

The ones you have are the worst ones, they have a T fitting instead of a y fitting. Return them

Obx has a 2 piece design. I don't think OBX hasn't released anything that looks like that. And Certainly not in a 3 piece design.
You can check my pictures in my profile. I have pictuers of my V20bx for the 4th gen they look nothing like that.
And never installed? The EGR bung looks rusted.
My OBX's installed easily, not much fitment issues. You can't expect everything to be easy. They are headers non the less. Just because they say cattman or obx on the side doesn't automatically give you 90+ whp like some sticker. Just put them on your car, regardless they WILL sound good and WILL make power.

You people and your name brands...

Keep the warpspeed Y pipe....your not going to get any extra gains with OBX or Cattman headers. Just a big bill for the install.

I wouldn't say he's not going to have any gains, but true, the gains of a header install over a Y on a VQ30 aren't really worth the trouble. Especially if you pay someone to install them.

Yeah, unless you're going FI, it isn't really worth it "for the sound"

I definately knew that Cattmans were SUPPOSED to be equal length, and these werent. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, since I wasnt able to find pics under search, OR on Cattman.com due to website changes. I thought maybe they were an early release or something. He bought them and never installed them.. they have been sitting in his garage for like 2 years! I did do a search on OBX headers, and found NOTHING but BAD news as far as they go.. the only positive word one way or another I found was 5th genners, said they liked them.. but even THEY had to modify for fitment! Blah.. they are back to sitting in his garage. I had traded a leather interior for them, but got my leathers back! lol

Good.. thanks for all the input, guys! The headers were returned. I'd rather install USED Cattman headers than NEW OBX ones!

Good choice on returning them. Cattman headers are a much better quality product, and they fit like they should. Equal length FTW.

Agreed equal length FTW. The major giveaway was the t-fitting and the non-equal length. If I am correct, still to this day the only equal length y-pipes for our cars are Cattman's pictured here or the OEM y-pipe is that correct?

The OEM Y isn't really equal length, AFAIK.

If you include headers in the comparison, the new V2 OBX design is just about equal length.

Stillen used to make an equal length ypipe back in the day, but that's been long discontinued. They pop up for sale every once in a blue moon.

Awesome thanks for the info guys, now I am up to speed on my y-pipes. I guess I will keep my eyes out for Cattman, V2 OBX's, or an old Stillen.
