My car dies while shifting gears, wont pass 3000 rpms
Hey guys. I got a problem and dont know whats going on. My ECU said i needed a new maf sensor (mass air flow sensor) and once i installed it, the ECU said i needed one still, and the problem of my car did not fix.. The problem is
Sometimes, when i start up the car, it wont start at all, and when i do start it, the rpms are around 1000 to heat up. Once i shift gears, my car sometimes stays on, or just dies. It is on for a second, and then dead. Also, when i rev up the car, it wont pass 3000 rpms, it only comes near it.. It also jumps from 2000 rpms to almost 3000. Once it does that, my car starts struggling and shake. My mechanic doesnt know whats wrong and is going to talk to his mechanic friends. I hope its not anything with the transmission.... or else its to the stealerships.............i mean good ol' dealershipp.. :\

Did you check anything first, or just replace the MAF assuming that was the problem?
Assuming you cleared the codes and the MAF code came back, then it's likely a harness issue. Some have fixed issues like that by grounding the MAF, or it could be some corrosion within the connector, a damaged wire, etc.

Il try resetting it, but how would that help? Yes my check engine light came. It gave me the code for a maf sensor.
