I like it so far...Looks like a lot of work...boy I wish my MAX wasn't my only ride to work casue that is something I would do to my car.

Maybe this winter I'll buy a second car and make my MAX a real show car.

Have to let the carpet sit in the sun, loosens it up some.

Reused the stock hanger/clips. Used a staple gun and cardboard, I think I read that from one of Flav's threads.

FTL!!!!!!!!!!

B-pillars in, carpet vacuumed

Console and dash in.

I will finish up in the morning and have the rest of the pics.

Steering wheel look ugly for now, but wheelskin goes on tomorrow so it will not be brown.

BITER!!! j/k, looking good, man. I think this would look GREAT with some chrome/silver accents, very TL-ish.

I haven't done so in ages, but I'm clicking 'subscribed'.

ACC is a big carpet manufacture, they supply stockinteriors.com IIRC. Got mine from rockauto since they had a special. Wait till you guys see my custom floor mats hahaha

Had to turn on the car and make sure everything worked haha, plus needed some jams to finish up the work.

Might get rid of the wood grain in the future and get the "marble/smoke" wood. But not in my budget right now.

As a side note, my three cuts have carpet fibers in them, hope I don't get infected

Quote: Props for originallity, but not feeling the tan/black combo with a white car.
Maybe Black/grey but the tan is just so loud. Also not feeling the wood trimmed switches. They should either be black or tan also to flow together. Too many colors making it look too busy.
To me, the black and tan color combo would look good on either a black car or gold.
But to each their own.As long as you like it. Dash came out well.
I'm with Flava. This is like wearing brown shoes with a black suit. I do like your attention to detail. The Console lid does look pimp.

Make your own. Youve already proven that you can use a spray can.

I'm living vicariously through your swap. Its the first thing I've checked the last few days at work. I think I love interior work so much cuz I'm avoiding the paint and body work I need.

Thought of another ? for you. What are you doing for the rear deck? Thought of doing something similar to what Anthony did in his old maxima? http://www.cardomain.com/ride/212763

Couple of suggestions.

Paint your center console/arm rest the same color as your dash. It looks different in the last pic posted.

Change your steering wheel to the sexier 99 SE leather wheel and bag. I hated the GLE/GXE airbags. So blah.

Looks sick otherwise.

Tan and black does look ok, just not in a white car, a balck car would pull it off better.
Frankly, I dont know what Nissan was thinking by putting in a tan interior with white exterior to begin with.

Yeah, I want to sand and paint the center console so it is smooth and 100% matching, but that will be later on. I am tired for now and I am gonna head to the beach and drink.

But here it is at last:

Steering wheel looks bad *** in person.

Black leather and tan stitching. I know, the e-brake handle is coming soon...

Shift boot also with alternate stitching, but I think redlinegoods forgot to make it shorter.

Another wheel pic.

Custom floor mats from www.vanmats.com

So not that it is all said and done. It turned out pretty good, the wood doesn't look as bad in person. Painting took a while and hopefully holds up well. Only time will tell. I spent under 500 on this project so I am pretty happy overall. I still want to get the Z pedals so I have a nice footrest. Wood might get changed later on but not now. The center console WILL get painted eventually maybe at the end of the summer.

Originally, I wanted to do a black and silver theme but $$$. I would have cost alot for the way I wanted it.

Nice work Kev.

Be bold and make the center console tan and run it all the way to the ac vents.....

or

maybe you should've left the left/right/center ac vents tan. Dunno. It just seems there's not enough contrast going on in the center console/dash area like you have with the door panels etc.

A+ for effort. Keep it up.

Black and gray would be nice too. I've seen a handful of 4th Gen Maximas with gray interiors. They seem to be hard to come by though.

tan and white is a pretty classic combo imo. where they went wrong is the 2 tones of tan they used. the doo doo brown throws it all off.

There is close to ZERO noise coming from the bottom of the car, but lots of wind noise and noise from the front tires. What to do now? The tires themselves are quiet but you can hear road noise from the front

Wow turned out great. I'm a big fan.

Something about the door panels is bugging me, perhaps the tweeter or the door handles. I wonder how it would look with black door handle cups, or black door handles with the tan cups.

Really looks good though. I love the custom floor mats and you may have inspired me to get a wheelskin cover.

I think he should just do tan leather insert and MAYBE the speaker grill in tan. Everything else should be black on the door.

look good! I like the two-tone theme, but the center console should be tan, IMO. You have all that tan on the sides of the car and none in the middle.

Also, maybe I'm just illiterate, but where did you say you got the wheel cover?

Random idea I had: Shoot the clear "convenience light" lenses in the doors with niteshades. Right now the white is standing out from the black and tan and it'd clean up the look of the door a bit.
