question about ngk platinum plugs

the fsm gives 3 choices as oem - standard, cold and hot platinum plugs.

regular is just regular
hot helps burn off deposits but might get too hot and cause detonation
cold doesn't burn deposits off - couldn't find info as to what their good for

why the 3 and not just the regular plug?

...to give you a choice?

The FSM clearly tells you why you would want a hotter or colder plug. It's directly beneath the plug part numbers, much less. Read that.

If you don't have any issues, just get the regular plug, problem solved.

my 95 fsm doesn't give any additional info/description of uses
i've had iridiums for 2 years and read that they're good but might be too hot so looking into alternatives.
what year fsm are you looking at?
