Getting started on rotors
Getting started on rotors
i wanted to upgrade my rotors and wanted to get some opinions on which are the best for the best price.
I found some on ebay which were around 200$ for slotted and cross drilled rotors from some unknown companies. Are these legitimate?
Is it better to get drilled rotors or slotted rotors?
Any suggestions would help,
thanks

also, I replaced them with OEM replacements and I don't really feel a difference

I've talked to a lot of people with personal experience using all kinds of different rotor brands and I've never heard anyone say they regretted buying the basic and even cheap-o brands. However I've heard PLENTY of people say how over-rated brembo rotors were and even that they were pretty much the "same thing" when compared to cheaper brands.
I've got slotted brembos and I cant say I noticed too much of a difference, which seems to be the general consensus. Change your brake fluid and put in some stainless steel lines while your at it, if you want an upgrade. Otherwise I wouldn't bother with the rotors unless they are due for changing.

let me put it this way...when is the last time you changed your brake fluid?
^^ thats actually my way of avoiding being called a hypocrite. Changing it has been on my to-do list for a long time. Many people over-look it and then start crying about brake performance. The fluid does need to be changed. Steel lines give firmer pedal feel.

For a daily driver: Brembo blanks for the front with your choice of pads for whatever reason (quietness, stopping power, brake dust, etc.) and regular (meaning parts store brand) rear discs and pads.
I just installed brembo blanks in the front with hawk hps pads which I bought online and bought rear discs at Strauss for the lowest price anywhere and then I lucked out when a member was selling hps pads for the rear.
I wanted good stopping power since I drive a lot/far.
And if you need replacement calipers strauss has them for like $45 each after the core.

No wonder you noobs can't find anything in the searches, none of you can spell worth a crap.
um, you do realize it costs money to drill/slot them right? anyways, i licked up a set of PBR ultimates (the ceramic) and slotted/drilled rotors from a local store called rotorworks for ~ $250 so I wouldn't call it expensive
