Scraping
I have Sprints and Tokicos on my Max.
It seems I scrape on just baout every driveway/incline in Seattle.
2 Questions:
Can anyone teach me techniques to avoid scraping? It is worse, of course, when I have passengers in the car. I know about the 45 degree angle trick, but that is not always possible.
Also, what does scraping do to the car? Can it cause major problems down the road? The scraping is usually fairly light, but I'm not sure just what is scraping...is it my Tranny? Is it my Muffler? How resistant are those parts to scraping?
I did a search, but didn't find much info.
Thanks!

Scraping answer???
Well, scraping isn't going to cause any major damage down the road. The only big damage you will get is cosmetic...if you have a body kit. Otherwise the only thing that will normally scrape is your exhaust tips...sometimes the muffler if you go over huge speed bumps...and in the front your frame...which if you jack up your car there is a huge solid bar that protects the bottom of your engine and your tranny...that is what that bar is for...to protect the motor that is most likely the only scraping your doing.
But, with technics take it slow...45 degree trick is always good, but other than that I can't be of much help.
Hope that answers your questions

I scrape on just about every inclined driveway.
But the inclined driveways in Seattle are pretty darned inclined.
I do not usually scraped on speed bumps, however..Just the REALLY big ones that have at the University Village.
