Need Best Deal on Starter....help

Hey guys, can someone give me some advice on a new starter price? So far advance auto and autozone (local parts stores) are $120 w/core. Is there a GD or another site with a better deal? I would like a warranty, at least with the stores you get a lifetime warranty. Thanks!

Jason

All the remanufactured starters are OEM Hitachi starters. It's just different companies, such as Bosch, Autozone, Denso, that rebuild the starters. So you are paying for the quality of the rebuild.

Whats wrong with yours? You can re-grease or do new brushes/solenoid if its cranking slow. Check your cables two, both ends of each. Don't throw money at this unless your absolutely sure.

I tried regreasing once with my '96 Max. It worked for awhile, but then it quit again, so I decided to buy a reman. Turns out the early Max starters were weak as the reman starter had more teeth on the pinion. Works fine with more teeth!

Most of the time, it just makes a click sound when u turn the key. I put on new cables and cleaned everything. Its been doing it off and on for about a year now. Iam sure the solenoid is bad. Motor sounds fine, but something is bad in the electrical part.

I got mine off of eBay for $77 shipped. Re-manufactured and no core charge. Installed for about 3 months now - so far so good.

hit up MaxFever1987, tell him jon sent you. he'll give you a good deal and its OEM. he has a starter from a low-mileage ~70k motor. i tested it on my car and it started right up.

Just a small update..... I installed a freshly rebuild unit a little while ago and wow! I can't believe how quickly she turned over! I did have a 10tooth but I counted 11 teeth on this one. My car had been sitting for about a week 1/2 and as soon as I bumped the key she spun over and started in a 1/2 sec.
