Yes...same problem as mine.

Mine=
-Starter works
-Engine turned on once for 3 seconds (left over fuel)
-Security light ON when keys in ON position.

You need to tow it to nissan and do what i said. good luck, nissan service advisers are sneaky fcks.

Okay...but I don't think you are getting what I mean by engine not turning over.

When you start the car...even when it just cranks...you know how you hear the engine and you feel the engine trying to turn over?

All I get is an audible sound coming from the starter area. It's WEIRD. I have never had a car do that before.

Should I be worried?

Check your grounds on the starter?

This this happen before or after the car "locked" up? Maybe your batterys low again since its been sitting there and you haven't been able to start it?

My starter just cranked and cranked. You might have 2 issues on your hand since the starter and the NATS are not connected to each other.

Nah starter definitely is working. I dunno how to explain it lol.

I'll see if they (Nissan) have the same issue. It was only day after I did the unlock above, got it to start once, and then this sound.

security light is on solid, nothing else to think about.
All he things you're saying are what I experienced with the GFs car. First time it cranked and died after that no cranking. Same could go for my car. Sometimes it never cranked just a click click click from the engine bay. My problem was the grounding but the security light was never solid...

I wish my XTi did video. I'd post it up. The car is CRANKING...just not like it normally does. The starter is definitely working.

Anyway...I'm going to drag it to the dealer tomorrow night. Hopefully by Monday night they have it fixed.

so the starter spins but it doesn't engage the plate? When you take out the starter and give it power, does the rod spin and extend outwards?

That seems like what's happening. I haven't taken the starter out.

Issue fixed. Went to Nissan. $49.68 later my car was running. It was indeed my keys/imobilizer.

Standard rate? Guess not lol. One dealer wanted $89. The other dealer (the one I went to) is 5 miles away and only wanted $49 lol.

I'm just glad it's fixed. lol.

Although, I think the power spike I had from the alt killed my capacitor...so I have no tunes right now .
