I've raced an 08 Civic SI coupe standard, 3 different times. 1st was dead stop with a guy who granny shifted. 2nd was with a different driver who double clutched. 3rd was rolling. Glad to say i spanked them ALL 3 times. The SI was about 3 cars behind me everytime. I have an Auto so it didn't matter. But i have mod's done so i factored that in. Plus half a tank of gas......GL.

There's the car.

I have the slip if you wish for it to be uploaded.

Long story short, the driver REALLY can't drive (it was both our first time ever tracking our cars), just a FYI his 60' was 3.0. But hey, I beat a R34, have you ?

lol true, honda's K-series is pretty stout thou i would not sleep on them, the just need to be "woke up":

stock:

bolt on:

so they typically put down more power stock then we do its just our tq&power curve is so much flatter then theirs, if u have ever ran a honda with almost equal power to weight u will notice u will pull on it then it will hold you for a little then when it shifts he falls back again etc.(no im not talking about falling out of vtak), honda motors are just peaky.

If you take the pyramid amp and speakers out of your trunk you will win. Ask any racer, any real racer....

Lawlz, I just got pwned.

Either way, I still should not be able to beat him if he was a decent driver, he was trapping higher speeds @ slower times, just that the .6 advantage he gave me in the '60 offa the launch helped me win.

I'm pretty sure if I was in that car I would have beaten my maxima...

[edit] It wasn't AWD either, so that makes it 217hp?

Conclusion: An SI thats NOT turbo'd will lose to any 4th gen.

Don't be so sure that was bad driving. Our cars launch well because of all that torque. If you launch practically any 4-banger the way you have to launch a Maxima to keep from spinning, it will bog like hell. The only way to get a decent launch in one of those is to rev to 5k or better and slip the clutch, which takes a really good feel for the car to get right.

When I had my 2.2L Outback, I would just dump it from 5k. I would get incredible 60' times, but I still ran 16's at best because that thing had no power.
