I am trying to set my factory alarm back. I want to get my alarm sounding

when I open up my door, so I can know if someone Is opening my car door.

did it just stop working? check fuses etc but are you saying that should you lock all the doors and allow the alarm to arm itself(after 30-60 secs) and then open a door or trunk or hood that it wont go off? Obviously you have to leave a window down to do this.
