Brown Dash: The Scar That Won't Heal
Gang,
I love my Maxima. I really do. I try to keep it as stock as possible, and the thought of painting the interior a custom color... well, without sounding condescending... it isn't for me.
So I search and search, trying to find any reasonable approach to repair the infamous, "My passenger airbag cover is black underneath!"
I read and read on vinyl paints and dyes. Every company promising miracles really wants a sample though. I try to find people that have put forth an effort to fix it, alas to no avail. I find quite a few unanswered threads about the same problem, however I have not found anyone with a solution.
Finding some magical color code for the brown dash (tan & brown interior) is completely futile. Buying a full replacement of the airbag isn't worth it.
Does anyone have any food for thought? I'd love to put forth a guided effort to help myself and everyone else that didn't have said direction.

Readin pwns me so I'm gonna go ahead and ask, what exactly are you asking help with? Are you saying that your passenger side airbag is not the same color as the rest of the dash anymore and you're looking to paint it?

Yes. The passenger airbag cover is painted brown to match the dash from the factory.. Too vigorous of a scrubbing (in my case) or too much sunlight will break it down and leave the original black color underneath.

If you want I can source you a brown bag/cover... I actually have access to a tan/brown interior at the moment...
