Exterior lights flashing by itself

Hi, this really is not a problem but I thought it was a strange phenomenon. A few weeks ago, my starter that I have been trying to fix finally died while I was in my college parking lot.

I kept trying to start the car doing everything I can think of to try and coax the car to start, like putting the car in neutral, stepping on the gas, and ect.

But here is where things got strange, I was starting to get frustrated at this point because it was late, cold, and its raining to top it off and so I kept turning the key to START, then back to ACC and then to START again over and over, then all of a sudden all the lights in my car flashed twice then stopped, like then turn signal, headlights, tail lights, ect. all flashed twice. It was pitch black outside so I noticed it right away.

But I thought I probably triggered something and so I went back to turning the key back and fourth trying to get the car to crank and all of a sudden it did it again, every light outside flashed twice. And i haven't been able to reproduce it since.

My car doesn't have a aftermarket alarm or anything, and I don't have a remote either for the stock system, if 97 Maximas ever came with remote activated alarm systems. But I do have some strange box things in my engine bay with wires coming out of it, and the company is Clifford or something. Along with a wire coming out of my A-pillar with a antenna type device that fits on the connector on the wire.

So does anyone have any idea what it could be??

Clifford makes keyless entry and remote start systems, it's likely one was installed by the PO. Can you take a picture of this 'strange box'?

Will do ASAP, haha.

Yeah I thought that the box was something that came stock with our stock alarms

But yeah the box has a wire coming out of it, that sits right in the little gap in front of the battery and has wires coming out of it into a harness that is tied the the side of the car. Its scary how it controls my car and I don't have anything to control it.
