is it a custom piece that goes onto the place the filter normally attaches, or does it attach to the end of the pr upper intake pipe? i may be interested if you give me a price

Actually...

It's just the lower portion of the CAI. When I sold my car I didn't include that piece b/c I didn't think the new owner would know enough to remove it in the winter. Therefore, I have the pie that goes down into the fender where you would relocate the filter if you had the CAI.

Again, it's nothing more than the pipe that relocates your filter from right behind the battery to the fender---just like a true CAI--Oh yea...it's red.

I am looking for $35 plus shipping.

i dont have a cai, but even then after i installed my intake, i removed that piece off the front and just zip tied the boost sensor to one of the vacuum hoses.

I don't think my 95 has a boost sensor but my question is that wouldn't it make sense to keep the under the hood air plastic in it's place to allow outside air into the engine compartment and keep things cooler,

so its just a red tube, does it have the brackets to connect to the maf built onto it or the ones for the filter attached to, or just a plain piece of pipe

How am I "dising" the maxima? I'm just saying it doesn't sound like a small block chevy or a Ford 302. It never has and it never will, that's just a fact.

I never said the sound of a maxima was a bad thing. That was an insinuation that you presumed incorrectly.

I actually love my Maxima, and all maximas really, but I love them for what they are, a sporty 4-door sedan, NOT a RWD V8 musclecar. I like the versatility, the peppyness, and the reliability, and much much more. But just because you like many things about a car doesn't mean that you have to like everything. It's called being realistic, and a concept that you may find of use in your future endevours.

Since you asked, I drive a '95 Maxima SE 5-speed(with stock exhaust), a '00 Silverado, and until recently I had a '94 Camaro Z28 with a SBC 350 (LT1).

I would like to clear this up a little bit concerning the CAI sounding like a V8.
A CAI does not sound like a V8 at all, it does sound great but nothing compares to the V8 sound of a Cobra. Considering I have a 98 Mustang Cobra with Bassani Quite Thunder Exhaust as my second car, you can trust me when I say the sound doesn't even compare. Sometimes my Mustang is too loud, but it is very intimidating. Don't get me wrong, I love my maxima because the car has great pickup, it is very smooth and you can actually have a conversation on your cell phone inside the car or better yet, talk to someone in the back seat. The CAI does sound pretty tuff, but let's keep it in perspective.

Lol. The sound of a Cobra is one of a kind...

But I think the Maxi sounds better than alot of V8's. I like the sound our VQ-V6 makes when combined with these mods, think about it this way:

4-banger: Too high
V8: Too LOW!
Our VQ-V6: JUST RIGHT
