So I currently have an black on black leather auto 98 max gle. There Is a 97 5speed max with lower mileage than mine black aswell with a few performance mods. The only difff is the year, cloth interior and manual climate control. Should I sell my max and get that one. I have always wanted 5spd but is it worth losing some of the luxuries from gle?. I know I can swap for leather but I hear auto cc is not worth it. I won't be losing any money in the swap either. Suggestions please.

Been in that boat before - Buy the 5speed they are great to drive over auto

Had a Auto wanted the manual so brought 5speed and swapped the seats over (5speed car didn't have electric seats)

I thought I would miss the digital climate control but in the year i've had the 5speed never once had a complaint with the manual

 

You can swap the leather in. The auto climate doesn't make much of a difference.

Manual climate control still goes hot and cold.

If you want a 5spd, get it.

 

I'm sorry, but that makes no sense whatsoever. I wouldn't switch transmissions just for the conviences of leather and auto climate control

 

How much lower mileage? The newer car will have a higher resale value with comprable mileage, but if it is a lot lower on the 97 and/or you don't plan on selling the car then get the 5spd you have always wanted.

 

I know what car you're talking about. Do it man. 5-speed is nice, and the car you're looking at is a STEAL, considering how tastefully modded it is and low the km's are. Try to have both cars in youre possession at the same time, if you can afford to, and just put the best of both into one car. I'll buy the MEVI off you and you're old body kit off you if you do it. : )

 

Coming from a 5 speed swapper: once you drive the 5spd for a week, you'll wonder why you ever even created this thread.

 

it's easier than swapping over the ACC setup for alot of people.
