Pinstripe Idea

I have a 95 beige, and the pinstripe is bugging me, it is starting to fall apart on me, and I want to take it off, but I think the paint will look dumb because it hasnt seen any light for 15 years, so, could I take it off, then paint a chrome stripe in its place to compliment the chrome door handles? Any thoughts?

Don't do it.

Just shave the stripe, polish and wax the entire car. You'll be fine

I'm thinking helll no, but post a pic in the Photoshop Request forum and it can be done in any color fashion, or way you want.

Who knows how it will turn out, it's easier to see it on the screen than imagine in your head.

Two words: hell no.

Chrome = FAIL.

It's real simple man... just take off the pinstripes, wash the car, and then wax it. Concentrate on the area where the pin stripes were. Trust me when you're done you will thank yourself and there will no be signs of a pin stripe anywhere.

yeah I removed my vinyl pinstrip from my dark blue car (so a color difference would be very obvious). There was a thin strip of darker blue, but I washed and waxed it, and then you couldn't tell where it was unless you were like 6" away from it.

Just go ahead and remove it. If the paint is faded (and I dout it is) and you don't like it, you can always buy some pinstripe and put it back on. what ever color you like.
