Clutch Slippage

I am getting minor slippage on my clutch. When I am in second gear and stomp the accelerator, the engine revs up but the wheels do not spin nor does the car accelerate. Car has about 70k miles, but hasn't ever really been abused, raced, or anything. However, I drive in a lot of city traffic that involves stop and go. I am second owner, first owner was a close relative. I plan on supercharging the car in a few months and I was expecting to replace it anyway. I have not noticed any burning clutch smell and the car is still very drivable at this point.

Do you guys have any recommendation on clutch and flywheel brands? I have heard people discuss Fidanza flywheels and Exedy clutch kits. About how much would it cost for me to change the clutch myself? I am expecting it to be around $700 in parts (including flywheel and clutch). I have done the clutch on a Mazda Protege, and I assume this would be fairly similar except with a larger engine and transmission? Is this a basic weekend or two job? The How-To sticky does not work anymore.

Definitly sounds like the clutch. I would be careful to drive it, it can burn out pretty dam fast. What stage clutch are you looking for?
Stage 1 clutch without the flywheel will cost you around $120 at o'reilly

I am thinking stage 2 and a performance flywheel but I don't know much about the available brands and pricing.

After debating whether to keep car, I think I will. I want to get a stage 2 clutch and given I may boost the car, should I retain stock flywheel and have resurfaced (heavier, so better for boost) and also, what stage 2 do you guys recommend?

Depends on the driver when the clutch goes out
