Transmision S.O.S.

My 95se shifts fine through 1st and 2nd gear but does not go into drive or overdrive I checked
fluids and everything is good. Is this a tranny swap or is the trans repairable?

Sounds like an electrical issue, like a faulty Tranny solenoid. It sounds almost like the Tranny jus doesnt recognonize when its in Drive.

If u remove the Shifter panel, ther should be some cables down there. Make sure wires and grommets not worn.

I have reverse and the selector is in drive. The car just goes through 1 and 2 smoothly and rpms shoot up with no drive or overdrive. It just stays in 2nd gear and revs too find drive but doesnt. I can drive with the selectorin 2nd no faster than 20mph in 2nd gear and rpms at about 2100.

but it still pulls? or does it slip at higher speeds?i ask because when i first got my 4th gen it either had 1st-3rd, 2nd only, 1st and 3rd. but no reverse.
so if there's no slippage then it could be the shift linkage.

the FSM AT-74 also indicates it could be the inhibitor switch adjustment (#1), control linkage adj (#2), etc. Have you checked these ?
