car is squealling at start

car is squealling at start

it only does it when i first start it up or if its been sitting for a while ?

You either need a new serpentine belt, or the one you have needs to be tightened.

I agree with TLMNICK, had the same problem and after replacing belts squeal went away. I got a good price on Goodyear Gatorback belts from amazon at the recommendation of a mechanic friend. Good luck with your repair.

my car was doing that too for about 2 months had to have my power sterring belt adjusted and it allll started but mine also squeaked while i was driving for like the 1st 10 mins

i've got the same prob, i've known it was the belt tho. just too lazy to do anything about it. it squeals for a longer period of time when it's wet too.

cool , thought it was my ps pump going out , lol !
I just replaced my belt and tensioner pulley i bet i didnt tighten it enough !

Had the same thing. Turned out to be the fanbelts so had to get them replaced (think there's more than one anyway lol). I got it fixed right away though since it annoyed me

ye abuddy just dont over tighten the powersteering belt. last time i did that it locked up and needed to replace it

Try to tighten up the serpentine belt first. If that doesn't work, replace the belt.
