Removal of EGR FLow Sensor

So I'm in the process of doing the EGR Guide tube cleaning, and I've gotten to the step where I remove the EGR flow sensor from the assembly.

While I know this might not be a necessary step, it is in my case as I need to get it out of the way so I can unclamp some hoses that some idiot clamped on with the clamping mechainsm on the bottom (i.e. i cant get my pliers in there to unclamp the hose)

So my question is this, how do people break the nut on the EGR flow sensor. Its a 14mm nut, and I'm trying like hell with a wrench. Can't get a socket on the not because the sensor is attached/built into the nut.

Any other tools a novice like me might not know about?

I just did this today.

First, you can spray something like PB on it to loosen up stuck bolts.

To get it off, I used a 14 double sided wrench...they usually have a little angle to them, which helps in tight situations like this. Your ratcheting wrench won't work because of that cable. You can try an adjustable monkey wrench too, but it's not as good...

By the way, be very careful when you're hacking that bolt not to hack the coolant line directly above it...that's what I just did....it's only like a $4 part from Courtesy, but it means no Maxi for a week till the part comes in.

Thanks

I've removed just about everything there is to remove to get to the hacking bolt. I'm on my second hacksaw blade. I'm not sure what point I will give up, the bolt, as poorly designed as it is (too long), is stronger than Superman.

You can try hitting the wrench with a hammer if you have enough room.

once you get the egr off just plug the holes and leave the sensor plugged in to the harness you wont have to worry about cels or worry about cleaning it again.

So you're saying...

...Remove the EGR guide tube once and for all and just plug the holes where the EGR guide tube used to attach? Is that recommended, haven't heard that one before?
