Its a mustang, a muscle car. The only thing it's good for is burnouts and 1/4 miles. To find out that it's not good for that either makes a pretty big shock to the loser who bought it. I can totally understand why he's pissed, why anyone would buy it in the first place is beyond me.

I read all 11 pages worth of angry discussion on youtube lol. Man those Mustang guys get so pissy when they see something else walk them. I've personally put a 2001 Mustang V6 automatic (RWD Tempo) with flowmaster exhaust about 10-14 car-lengths behind and my buddy has it on dvd Wonder how I'd do vs an 03 GT though...

Mustang is all about the name. The car is poorly put together.

Quick story....

One friday night in Boston I pull up to a red light and this car pulls up next to me. Im not really payin attention, but i can see his front end a lil bit and i notice some large front tires. Maybe 19s, stock.

The light turns green...I got a 5spd, dyno max muffler, Short ram w/ intake funnel....and i gas moderately it in 1st gear. I glance to my left and i see the guy still keepin up, so I hit. BOOM WOT!!....I glance over to my left again and he still keepin up WTF??!!...I redline 1st gear then bang chrip 2nd... The guy must have heard the chirp cuz at this point he gunned it too......then hell, the guy startin to walk on me!!!!...Im in my car urging her on...but no dice, i hit 60 mph and he is a full car length in front of me doin like 70 or 80 mph...thats when i see his car emblem....G35!!!!!!!!!

There arent alotta cars that can whip a maxi. The G is def one of them.

But I will say the maxima is a highly underrated car.

Although the Altima seems to have taken its place now. Maxima is now more luxury...Altima sporty..

I once lined up against my buddy's 350z and from a line we were about even all the way to like 30-40 mph lol and that was it

From a 60mph roll I had better luck but he still pulled on me hard it was just for ****s n giggles btw

I just love the look on peoples faces when they try to cut you off at a red light and they cant.. I'm not saying the 4th gen is FAST but its fairly quick for what it is and for its time

Hafta agree. Once they discontinued the manual transmission for the max, they officially became a luxury car for less money.

But im so used to 5spd, V6. Any newer car i buy def has to be V6, 5spd.

I might do 4 cyl turbo, but it would have to be a gooood setup. I cant stand turbo lag. Or maybe i wd jus need to get used to it. Its like goin full impluse speed to warp speed all in the same gear. Too trippy for me. I wd redline all the time

^this is 100% true. theres a couple stoplight jumping mustangs and gtos around here that always try to jump line in front, not on my watch!
nothing quite like petty anger at stoplights to show who the boss is

I have had both cars, and if you own a Mustang, just assume everyone in a Japanese car is planning on racing you... Actually funny because with just a few bolt on parts there were very few that could hang...

All I know is that they're dirt cheap to make fast. stock = piles UNLESS its a Cobra, Saleen, Roush. I might be ok with a GT but the previous three are the way to go or GTFO. Nuff Said.
