From my experience debadging a car, to take off the "Maxima" badge, you need to get yourself some fishing line, if you don't have fishing line laying around in your house, dental floss works, but not as good, it usally tends to break easily. But take the line or floss and saw your way behind the badge. Think of it as you were to floss your teeth. Once the badge is off, there will be some glue film still left on the car. You need to go to your local hardware store and get some goo gone or some adhesive remover. Soak the glue with the adhesive remover, and let it stand for about 30 seconds to a minute. After waiting, start rubbing the glue stuff off gently, but with some force with a old rag. Repeat again if all the glue doesn't come off. Usually you going to have to repeat it a couple of times. You might see a slight difference where the badge was and the paint of your car. After doing this, wash your car to remove any oilly residue that was left by the adhesive remover. After car is washed, wax your car, by doing this, this should help the paint difference to be not as noticeable. Over time, that one part should fade out and be very hard to be noticed. This kind of project should last about 15 to 30 minutes depending on how much care you put into removing the badge.

Aaaaaaaaack!
Go through 20' of waxed dental floss before you use 1" of fishing line!!!!!
FISHING LINE CAN SCRATCH YOUR PAINT!!!!!
The reason dental floss is recommended for this procedure, is because it is WAXED. Wax doesn't scratch. Better to break the floss 10x than do this job with anything else. It's not like dental floss is expensive. . .

Naaaahhh.
Go for more POWER! An air-chisel will take those badges off right-quick, if you got one.
Arrgghhh, arrrgghhh, arrrgghh! (a-la Tim Allen)
Sure, you'll need to repaint your whole trunklid after you're done, but imagine the time you've saved using an overpowered handtool when a perfectly good piece of dental floss would do!
Why loaf around waiting for dental floss to get it done when with an air tool, in 10 seconds, it could be MILLER TIME!!!!
(DON'T TRY THIS: AT HOME, AT WORK, ON YOUR CAR, ON YOUR FRIEND'S CAR, ANYWHERE!)

If you already took off "MAXIMA' letterings from your trunk PLEEEEAAASEEEEEEE sell them or donate them to me. I need 3 of them for a project to do new product and they will be used as molding point.
Anyone who donates, will receive finished product for free or for low discount.
Please do not ask what it will be, since I have signed non disclosure contract with local shop. I am only helping them in manufacturing and by providing my car for meassurements and testings.
Thanks!
