+1. Just get some wire and run a temporary connection from the relay to the MAF. Doesn't have to be neat....if you don't have wire, you can get some for a few bucks.

Sounds good. I heard it was an issue with analog voltmeters and I shouldn't use 'em on sensitive circuitry - I can't seem to find my nice digital multimeter, so I'm not going to do the continuity test...

I'll definitely try some temp wiring from the relay box to the plug in the harness tonight. Thanks again guys!

Took it to a shop, it was a bad wire going to the plug for the MAF. $48, not bad! I think the guy felt bad because he said that it was a bad MAF at first, but I pressed the issue that it had basically been through 3 MAF's....

So yea, car is good to go now! Thanks for the help guys.

ouch. for $48 you could've gotten a soldering iron kit and a manual on how to use it, some wires, and some left-over cash for a six-pack oh, and a priceless experience of doing it all yourself!

It must of been the power wire I suggested you check for continuity. With the IGN on you got no voltage at the MAF plug but you did get voltage at the EGI relay that feeds the MAF sensor.

Yea, I also don't have a good multimeter... I have a crappy analog one, which I was told was not a good idea to check continuity with an ECM. Some digital ones aren't that great either...

I'm not comfortable ripping apart the harness myself. Maybe you are 99zx2, but I am not. I could've diagnosed the crap outta the problem but not been able to actually fix it. I appreciate the help I received in this thread, it definitely gave me some great ammunition when I actually did take it in. It was also nice of my buddy to let me borrow his ODB-II
