wow! Nice numbers. With a VI that thing will eaisly have over 200 hp. Did you intentionally run the a/f that lean? I have never heard of anyone tuning a car on purpose that lean.

Yeah If "Action Jackson" could enrich it to the sweet spot 12.5-12.8 @ WOT, he'll surpass the 200 whp mark easily.....with a "00" VI I'll say 220whp...Good run Dude I knew your #'s were gonna be good....you do have plenty of torque, which I already knew! See if you can upgrade to a Pathfinder 3.5L throttle body, your #'s should increase as well!

The car is untuned and has no internal work done on it, that's just what the ECU has done after about 85-100 miles of mixed driving.

According to nmexmax and aj they think the high flow cat is giving it it's lean A/F, because back when i was running open downpipe I could have sworn the car was running really rich.

The Dyno guys did use the wideband port on the catback right? Yeah if it's taken after the cat the readings could be extremely lean.... Just add a wideband port to your header Ypipe! Then give me a visit....we'll go test the WOT readings.....:{

I have not dynoed my car with this exhaust yet....my exhaust is still in the box it was delivered in...my car does not even run yet But hopefully I will put down some good numbers when it is all said and done.

I finally got around to installing my 3" on my boosted 99 Max. Will drive it Friday or Saturday for sure for a local Maxima meet. I"ll report back with driving impressions. Upon startup, it was definitely louder than my 2.5" Cattman Catback (partially due to the smaller resonator I'm assuming, bigger piping, and non resonated tip)

3" on the left, 2.5" on the right

Resonated tip on 2.5" muffler (nicer thicker wall too)

Tons of clearance to the gas tank...exhaust should have been pushed over a good inch to avoid banging the trailing arm.

Very nice Wiz, your tip looks about where mine is. But I have the Stillen rear valence that hugs around the bumper up to the tip making it appear flush. I got those blank flanges to extend it a bit but still haven't had a chance to install them yet. When I do get them in, I'll post some before and after pics.

Yes, I have a lift in my garage. Actually 2 lifts; a four post and a scissor lift.

The previous owner bought the car here in CA, moved to New York for 6 months, didn't like NY, and move back to CA. So yes, it spent some time in the snow/salt unfortunately.

I do my own work, when skills and time allow.

Oh, I almost forgot, I just put the 98 (silver) Maxima on the lift and measured the clearance between the Bpipe and the trailing arm... it's even less than what I measured on my 99 Max.. It's about 1/8".

I have an idea of how to fix this problem once and for all. Will let you guys know if it pans out.

Does anyone know the distance between the holes on the stock exhaust hangers? Im going to order a set of polyurethane exhaust hangers for the 3" cattman I just purchased Check them out http://www.rallysportdirect.com/Kart...2009-Legacy-GT I had them on my sentra and the 2.5" exhaust on my b13 didnt move at all! a pia to install but wonderful once they are on there...cheap too...

These come in two sizes - Regular 35mm between holes and long 60mm between holes. The 12mm is the correct size for the 7/16" rod that cattman uses to make his exhaust hangers.

Any of you throw an o2 sensor code after the install? I got a code for the o2 sensor after the cat, tried to reset it several times and the code keeps returning. I think I may have gotten some anti cease thread paste on the sensor. It was minor at best.. figured it would burn off in time. Its been close to three months now, I just reset the code and it came right back. Should I just replace the sensor? Is there a way to clean it?? break cleaner etc?? Any Ideas?

I got the walker ones, like 3 bucks at Napa, you can use the hose clamp method discussed earlier in this thread. I use them and it worked out just fine.. nice and firm.

0707 I'm guessing ... I'd remove it and inspect it and take it from there, give it a little bath in said brake cleaner, but be sure not to break the sensor upon re installation.

I did reinstall it carefully and I don't see how the o2 sensor can go bad by just removing it and reinstalling it. It didn't require any torque at all to remove it, so I know I didn't damage it during the installation. I'll remove it, try the break cleaner and see what happens.

Yeah, that might work as a bandaid. Ideally, I think it would be great and I would really appreciate if Cattman would take responsibility for this problem and send out a corrected B-pipes for those who can't tolerate the banging. That would be some great customer service and would really show that he truly backs his products. Thus far, not even a peep has been said for some time now, even after I posted pictures.

Sorry to hear about your o2 code. None for me. I bet it's the anti-sieze you mentioned. Same thing happened to me years ago when I first got my Max and put on the Cattman yipe.

Thanks wizard....Ill let you know how the poly mounts work....perhaps they will be stiff enough to keep it from banging despite the close tolerance to the car.

Yeah I spent $15 ea on those NISMO mounts and honestly they're no stiffer than those $2.99 NAPA (Walkers) we're just paying for a name/label!!!!

I had too do that samething when a had a local exhaust shop try too shorten my 2.5" Cattman resonator a mere 1/2" and the dude shortened it 1 1/2" and fcuked up the clock angle and with his precision eyeball, well I had to use exhaust wrap til Cattman could build me a shortened resonator...and it worked like a charm....



do not clean with a stainless steel brush either that will hurt it....use compressed air after you saturate it with a cleaner.....

NISMO measured 42mm/1-5/8"....WALKER (35725) measured 35mm between the holes.....I found that the NISMO and the WALKER (35460) are both the same size as far as bore distance spec and perhaps the 35725 are pulling you exhaust sytem up to close to the chassis....Cattman didn't **** up like that.....!!!! You can usually loosen everything and realign your system and with perfection!!!! Where is your banging occurring???? Does it only happen on hard right handers???? If so it's bang here!!!!! That hanger support rod is ramming the floor.....this is my remedy other than cutting the rod down a little.....
