A trip to Mufferman

I finally got a chance to look at the exhaust leak in my car now that exams and school is finally over. I knew that it was leaking at some place, but never actually identified where it was coming from. Apparently one of the brackets between the Y pipe and the cat, got warped and was letting the exhaust out. I did lose quite a lot of low end, and my 2nd gear was not pulling as hard as before. In addition to this, there was a very annoying rattling sound from under the car, which once again seemed to be coming from the cat. So off it was to Mufflerman who actually installed the stuff on my car. Sure enough all the problem was with the cat. After replacing the bracket, when we started the car up, the rattling sound was still there. So they took a look at the inside of the cat, and it seems that a part of the resonator from the inside of the cat was causing all this nuisance. The guy had to go through two cats, before actually managing to fix it because of the resonator inside the cat. So finally after about a wait of about 2 hrs, it was fixed. So now I'm running with a non-resonated cat and no more leaks And yes, my 2nd gear is back with a bang! I do wish the tracks were open though, I think I should in good shape for possibly a 15 flat now. And my UDP should be sometime next week (no flames please). Next step... tranny rebuild.
