can knock sensor resistor mod cause o2 cel?
I have another thread about my o2 problem.click here I recently have done the knock sensor resistor mod and was wondering if that could be the cause of my continual o2 code.Anyone else do this mod and get an o2 cel? When you click on click here click on thread on the top right of the screen.

I have the KS resistor mod as well. I got a heater circuit code for the same 02 and replaced with the same Denso Direct fit from RockAuto.com for CHEAP. Haven't had a problem since.
No other codes for lean or rich? Anything that may be fouling out the O2? Have you used silicone anywhere in the intake or EGR system? That will foul an O2 sensor.

I do use premium gas only.I didn't think the resistor mod could cause the code but the original sensor went out about 2 months after I did the mod so I put a new one in and it is throwing a code after another 2 months for the same sensor. Thanks for the responses just making sure before I throw another sensor in there.

KS and oxy sensor can be related, however doubtful with this mod. The KS retards the firing of injectors / ignition spark. KS inputs to the ECU upon detecting knock - thus retarding timing (in a sense).
Oxy sensor will affect the injector(s) pulse rate to cause the signal from the ECU to turn them 'on' or 'off' based on a couple of things (KS, TPS) for sure, and I think also the cam sensor if I'm not mistaken. The ECU tells the injectors when to spray, how long to spary, and when to turn off. The signal from the oxy sensor is calculated by the ECU and helps derive that message being sent to the injectors.
The pulse (message) of the injector will casue either too much fuel, not enough fuel, or the propper amount of fuel to enter the cylinder. So ... the issue arises as to if it is truely a bad oxy sensor. I say this because I have put about 7 oxy sensors in my Max ... and I'M DONE! lol Not putting any more in there, car runs great, not affected, but the CEL always comes up oxy sensor and it stays on. I just put a new KS in and I still have the oxy code. I think it's possibly a leaky injector, or possibly a LIM leak. Not sure really.
