I have a 95 gxe and I was wondering what are my options when it comes to foglights.

Obviously the cheapest way would be to get some aftermarket foglight and install them.

But what about getting a new bumper and them getting OEM foglights?

Or what about cutting a hole where the foglights should be and then putting in OEM foglights?

Best thing is to get OEM foglights. I have a SE, so it was standard. Get the OEM fogs, it look much better. I'm not sure how much it cost, but try not to get them from the dealer because they're going to be expensive.

that will work just fine

there should be a cutout pattern where stock fogs go...you can cut there and just install the stock fogs which look best imo. don't know if you need wiring or anything else to do it....just know that it can be done....maybe someone here has done it and can help you out.

I don't know too much about the whole wiring thing, however i do know that the dealer is gonna charge you two arms and three legs for oem foglights. Your best bet is to look around and see if a junkyard, perhaps, in your area has maxima foglights. Don't forget to check the parts for sale forum either.

I've done it! it was not that bad. I bought them for courtesy nissan and I installed them myself. All the wiring is there. the hardest part was cutting the bumper. once I got that cut It was all plug and play. I think I payed about $160-180 soome where in that area I didnt care too much about the price I wanted the OEM look. Its not hard to do.

What did you use

to cut the bumper?

And the foglights turn on only when the headlights are on, right? Is there anyway to turn them off when the headlights are on?
Cause in my dad's Pathfinder, the foglights will only come on when the headlights are on, and there is a switch to turn the foglights on and off.

The bumper is plastic so I cut it with a breakaway knife. As far as the fog lights beening on it comes with a switch that replaces the OEM turn (came with the fogs). the new one has the head lights and the fogs all on one lever.you can turn the fogs off even if the head lights are on. I rewired mine the same day I installed them to come on with the park lights and you can still turn them off if I dont want them on.

One thing about the OEM fogs...
Try not to put too high of wattage bulb in those enclosures, I use to run APC 100W bulbs in them, and after running them about 20 minutes, you could't even touch the glass on the enclosures without burning your finger. Eventually after 1.5 months, one of the bulbs burned out on me. Also when I took the good bulb out, the bulb was all clouded up (I don't think it liked the 5.5 hr drive from the bay area to LA). I'm back to stock fog bulbs and they run much cooler now.

Contact JRNissan for their $200 shipped 95-96 OEM foglight kit that includes brackets, foglights, etc. Your car already has the wiring harness for them.

i just bought after market fogs b/c $$$ was an issue to. I don't think they are bad. You can't even see mine when they aren't turned on b/c my home depot grill covers them up. I bought cyberwhites from wal mart for 30.00. They also sold cyberwhites that came with a remote control for your key chain for an extra 10.00
