99 immobilizer Really need opinions

After my battery went dead and I tried jumping from some aftermarket amplifier wires in the trunk my security light came on and I was unable to start my vehicle. After swapping a nats box from a working car it still didn't work. I then swapped in an ecu to one that I needed since I did an auto to manual swap a while back and for some reason the car started with the security light on. After 3 starts the light went off. It worked with both of my keys.

The car ran good for the rest of the day and 2 days later the security light is back on and the car doesn't want to start. I called a locksmith and he programed one of my keys to the car and it started right away.

The thing is that I am afraid that the car will loose it's programming again and leave me stranded somewhere. It sucks when you loose trust in your car. Does anyone think that it will loose it's programming again based on what happened?

The only way I'll ever trust this ****ty nats is if I buy a key programmer to reprogram my key in the event that the programming is lost. I am really considering it and most likely will when I get a little income.

So all it needed was a key re-program and it started first try? What kind of locksmith was able to do this?

Correct. I just picked the nearest closest one to me and asked if he could program a key for a 99 infiniti i30 and he said yes. I didn't really believe him until the car started, LOL.

Sure enough, my buddy just took it to the dealership and they reprogrammed the key. $107 later, it starts perfectly every time!
Hopefully my car never needs this, and I'll be careful with jump starts.

Performance nissan? Bunch of ********. He kept telling me, why would you change something that was designed by nessan? He was reffering to the 5spd conversion. I responded that the transmission is from nissan and It's "Nissan Engineering" is what caused my key to loose it programming from a dead battery.

My friend went there with an I30 that he did a DE-k swap and 5 speed conversion on. The service advisor and techs said it was awesome and looked like it came that way from factory!
When he told them about the starting issue, they new the immobilizer needed reprogramming. Supposedly they see it mainly on 99/00's that go in.
