I was mainly wondering if you would be able to see the LED boards through the Red portion. I love the way the clear looks on them....

Led bulb would probably look fine. These lights are designed to reflect light better than the stock and have that more more updated look. If you want the led set up kevlo has I think it would be better to just use the stock tail light.

I've seen these lenses up close and yes, you can see right through the red portion. Hence, if you retro fit in an LED board; You will see the board behind the lens which = crap. If you want an LED set up like Kevlo, stick with the stock tails and retro them with LED boards.
