Dont get the Weapon R intake, it doesnt have a place for the intake air sensor and threw a code on my car until I drilled a hole in the midpipe and placed it there

i got almost the sameone and seems to work fine so far. did have the same problem with the iat sensor sept i put mine in the strut tower. b/c no matter where i tryed to mount it under the hood it would heat way up durring long idles. seems like in the stock air box the sensor is verymuch sheilded from the underhood heat. and if this is right how many of you have had the same prob?

should i keep that air filter or get a different one, cause ive heard people on here say to ditch the air filter that comes with these and get K&N. and how do you know if its a true CAI or not?

FWIW, most of the filters I've seen come with these types of things dont seem to be nearly as heavy as the K&N, I can only assume they are not on par with the quality of the K&N's. I might run one for a while, but I wouldnt consider it a "lifetime" filter like the K&N. Not the most scientific deduction, but I simply take it as not having the same amount of filtration media....

umm, i bought a bomz intake on flea bay that looked preetty dang close to that "true" cai, it has the piping exactly like that with the bend and all. cost me 40 bucks shipped if i remember correctly, flea bay has ALOT, if you know how to use it.

ps..simply typing in 97 maxima in the search bar is not how to use it. lol there is alot more to having a succesful buy for the right priice. people always seem to say dont buy from hong kong and what not but if you know what your looking for to make sure its not gonna be a steal.

Don't buy that eBay steeze. Go out and buy a STILLEN or NISMO. Don't cut corners or you'll have a crappy Maxima like most.

SRI? Why? So you can pump hot air from your engine bay in? That defeats the purpose. The reason you run CAI's are to get cooler air. Cars like that for some dumb reason.

Do some research? I guess cars like hot air. I guess heat soak is good. I'm going to install a space heater under my hood. Thanks for the idea! My car is going to go SO fast.

The fact is you tried to sound smart and said I mentioned INJEN as a CAI. I never ONCE said INJEN. Does NISMO suck? Stillen? If I were you, I'd send a letter to Mr. Millen himself and tell him to stop failing. Actually, you can make your own CAI. Get intercooler piping, pipe it down near the bumper, filter. DONE.

You're right. I'm a moron. I'm actually the smarter of us. You are the one preaching about Injen CAI's when I didn't speak one work of Injen. They make generic **** on par with eBay units. There isn't one thing on my car that is made by them. Not that I own a Maxima, but that's irrelevant.

you mentioned stillen...stillen does not make cai for the 5thgen they sell the injen one and they suck....you also mentioned nismo cai for the 4th gen....hmm ok i dont see those either...now the stillen intake for the 4th gen sucks, as do most "performance" products for the maxima...just look at the headers they produced for the 5.5gen...

sure a TRUE CAI can yield more gains than a short ram, however a longer tube will also hinder at higher rpms....

youre still a moron

btw i dont think "Mr. Millen" will give a **** if I knock his brand as he is no longer at Stillen....

I would love it if somebody would tell me how my injen CAI is NOT a "true CAI"...
And there should be an IQ prerequisite for being able to post here....because I see some of the most ridiculous statements posted here.

Offering one person's opinion is no basis for reasoning. Try proving me wrong with actual facts, like the temperature of the air as it is coming in. Until then, stop bringing stuff up because you're making yourself sound dumber...

Thank you for finally backing up what you have to say with actual results, and answering my question. I'm not sure why you have to act like a douche when you answer somebody's question, but I got an answer, so whatever.

Try using search before you post again "snyper". You're going to fit well in the noob section. Please stay there until you're not "dumber".
