Can Locksmith re-program 99 immobilizer?

Had my car die on me at Home Depot today. Cranked but wouldn't start. Towed it home. Battery lost juice really fast while trying to start so had it tested and it was bad. replaced. Still cranks great but not starting. Security light on while starting and on in ACC mode.

Can a locksmith come to my house to reprogram or is this a dealership fix? I did have a locksmith make me a key once for the same Max.

99 five speed.

locksmith cannot re-program the key (chip) unless he/she has the NISSAN consult scanner (dealer only).. or the launch scanner tool which cost $2g's easy.

Dead wrong on that.

I USED TO BE A LOCKSMITH!

YES, I made keys for 99 max's, if they have a TKO machine or any other programmer with the right software they can do it.

This situation is definitely an emergency term which forces you to call a locksmith in Chicago. Although it does not appear to be a actual emergency, not being able to get in to your automobile, home or office is definitely annoying & inconvenient. In addition, it may even be harmful to your personal security.
