wut did i do wrong?

i kno u people are probably gonna tell me search..but i did..and i tried to go about doing this. My headlight socket burned out, so i decided to switch it on my own...the mechanic was charging me 60 when all i had to do was buy a $3 thing and rewire it..well i did just that...i disconnected the battery...snipped the wires from the old socket, connected and soldered them onto a new socket...plugged the new socket in...connected the battery back up...and the headlight still dindt work...did i do sumthin wrong? did i blow a fuse? how can i check the fuse? wut do u suppose else can be wrong?? thanks

Check the fuse for sure. If the socket failed then there is a good chance that something shorted out and blew a fuse. Look in the fuse panel (just above the hood release inside the car driver's side), find the headlight fuse, and see if the internal filament has broken.

did you check your wiring? there are three wires, one for high beam, one for low beam, and one for ground. you need to make sure you wire it correctly. I just rewired mine for an H4 bulb and they look sweet!

Also, there are 2 fuses, one for each side.

Yea, first make sure your fuse isn't blown and then go back and make sure all the wires are correct, I remember myself going back because I wired grounds to lows and vice versa. It sucks because my factory wires are green, yellow and black and confused me when I lost track of which was which.

headlight

is the bulb blown?? I'm guessing that you probably replaced it. I just didn't see that mentioned.

That is not where the headlight fuses are located in a 4th gen. They are in the engine bay, in a little relay box located near your battery.

well thanx for the help..i did wire it correctly..no fuses were blown..but as u said, dat i PROBABLY did, i didnt do...which was replace the bulb,,,because when i first looked at the bulb it didnt seem burnt or damaged in anyway..but a TINY lil part of the filament was cracked off..so dat was the prob...i also realized im running on 80/100 bulbs which imma reduce to the 45/65 hyper whites...ill lose my nice hot blue bulbs that i have now, but i dunno if theyre worth it...thanx...maybe ill upgrade my socket sumtime
