Ugly!!!!!, it's the pinched rear end!!

My 4th Gen is Nice I like it, at first the 5th didnt look right but when you see one with a kit and rims and slammed aah that mug looks mighty tight I would trade in but I am not throwing all the money away for nothing I love my max it looks nice with the stillen kit and so does the 5th gen.

Definately the 97-99s, cause the redesigned front and rear make the car look so much better. I dont think the 95-96 are bad (I own one), but those taillights on the 97-99 are so nice, plus you can get the red/clear setup....drool. BTW, 2000's have the funkiest back end I've ever seen.

But, I would love it more if the 4th gen body style was on the 5th gen chasis.
I'll also say this. Before I bought it 4 months ago, I would walk up to people, in say a parking lot for example, who owned a 4th gen and ask them about their max. Everyone I spoke to said they loved their max.

If I park mine under a tree, it gets full of leaves. And then, if it rain, I DO get a wet look, but the leaves stick to it. Now that's D@mn nasty!
Oh, and, ever notice how Ford and Honda and even Toyota have cars that look similar to the 4th Gen max's? Wanna-be's. Maxima's rule; And Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder.
And about the A$$ end, thing. I'm sure allot of people think it's ugly. I mean, if you were lookin' at it all the time, wouldn't you be a little ticked, too?

I bought the 4th generation for two reasons: The engine and the body style. The only part of this car I don't care for is the "cut off" rear end. In 97, they helped the back a little, but it was still a little ugly. THE I30, however, has a gorgeous back end (the whole car is gorgeous) but then they screwed up the dash board by giving it that big hump in the middle. It's a toss up. I chose the 4th gen because the overall design is improved over the 3rd gen (even though the third gen is beautiful; especially a red SE). I was thinking about getting a 5th gen, but the design just does not flow like it used to. The grill is too large, and it still looks stubby, but that engine kicks ***!!!
Fourth gens, IMHO, are the best looking Maximas to date. With the proper mods, the ugliness of the rear end can be eliminated.

consensus is what counts
If you're a loner or display those tendencies, then you can truly do and say whatever you want. But there are general standards that are indicative of the majority. The 4th gen was never considered ugly imho--in late 1994 it was one of the hottest cars around, and not cheap, around 27k. Some did wonder about the rump a little. When it came to the 3rd and 2nd gens, ugly was never used to describe them. This term ugly didn't really come about until mid 1999 with the 5th gen.
The 4th gen is very outdated styling-wise because it's very narrow, the rear-deck is low, and it's round. But not that many call it ugly. Kinda like when you got a girl who's 5'9" and 140 lbs and pretty hot. You'd like more because you're only human. You see one who is 5'11" 140 lbs and you know the latter is even hotter, but you don't call the former ugly.

2. I want the friggin' bumper lights but they're on backorder!
