Ignition Coil and Knock sensor replacement
Howdy - My parent's 99 Maxima's CEL came on....and I'm too far to take a look at it, so I directed them to the dealer. Dealer said an ignition coil ($210) and Knock sensor ($530) needs replacing. I remember trying to replace the knock sensor on my 97 Maxima SE but my hands were too big, but I don't think $530 sounds right....but it has been a few years.
Are they getting ripped off? And what kind of prices/labor should I expect!
Thanks fellas...

Yes. They are getting ripped off.
Ignition coils are around $50 each and require 5min of labor. www.rockauto.com
Knock sensor is tricky. They are bout $35 for a Genuine Nissan one on ebay. But labor is killer. I can see shops charging anywhere from 100-300 for it.

Yep yep, the knock sensor can be changed out really easily if you have small hands. I can pull mine in within 5 minutes tops. And that is with a tiny ratchet and good ol' sticking your hands into the dark cave in the middle of your engine.
But to break the bolt loose, you are going to have to exert quite a bit of pressure with your fingers because even with small hands I cannot hold the ratchet like I normally could while having my hand in the hole, so I have to kind of just stick my fingers in there and PUUUSSSHHH the ratchet little by little with just my fingers.
