Ignition Coil Question

I need to know if the rear coils in my 4th Gen will work with a 00vi setup? I did some research and was unable to come up with an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated. =o)

Well, after more research, I found out I need to grind my 4th generation Coils.

Anyone have any good experiences with that?

Are you talking about the 4th gen rear valve cover??? Cause if I remember correctly the studs where the screws go to hold in the coils are the only thing you need to grind down not the coils themselves. Now if your using the 5th gen rear valve cover you could use the 4th gen coils, but they would not be held in place properly( correct me if I'm wrong anyone) cause only one side of the coil would be held down. Hope this helps

If you need a 5th gen valve cover, I have one FS with a new gasket. PM me if interested.

IIRC you will also have to relocate the pcv as well.(if using the 4th gen VC)

I'm using the 5th Gen Valve Cover and I would like to try and use my 4th gen coils also. What do you think will be the best route to go?

Thanks everyone!

IIRC the bolt holes for the 4th gen coils are smaller then the 5th gen. I cant recall the fitment for them though.

Well, If anyone has any 5th gen rear coils for sale then speak up. =o)

Thanks a lot guys. I didn't have enough money to buy the 3 coils I had in my hand at the junk yard the other day when I got my 00vi. It would have only been $21 for all of the coils, but now they are gone.
