truck lid opener?

truck lid opener?

trunk will not open anymore..
i checked the fuse its fine
it used to open fine not even 2 weeks ago

?? help

is the valet switch on the latch up or down? if it's down, push it up to take it out of valet mode. if it is already up, is the release solenoid/actuator working ( can you hear it pop when pressing the button )? if it pops, check that everything moves--linkage rods, pivots and latch.

Ya the valet switch I second that I had no idea about it, I posted on here about it and someone told me to get 4 feet worth of ratchet extensions and try and unbolt it, I finally got it figured out though. I could hold the button on my fob or the button in the cab and you could hear it click but nothing...

that picture is of the lower half of the latch, ie the one in the trunk well and not in the lid

No no, the valet switch is on the frame part of the car, not the trunk lid.

Why not just use the car key, and use that to open the trunk, then correct the valet mode switch...?

Some people enjoy the challenge of trying to control the swaying of 4 feet of 6 and 2" ratchet extentions.
