2 Quick MAF Questions.

I think my MAF my be on its way out and considering it has about 240,000 miles on it i just may be right. I replaced the motor a few months back. Have new coils new plugs, new starter, new crank and cam sensors, new knock sensor, new radiator and fan, and a warpspeed y pipe, and k & n panel filter.
The car still has issues starting at times. Meaning it will take about 10 seconds to crank. I still have to clean my IACV, TB, and EGR though.
The other day out of nowhere i go to pass someone on the parkway, throw it in third hit the gas and it bogged down, then felt like it was misfiring and then started to go. I wanted to see how long it would continue to do this so i just kept my foot on the pedal and it sounded like it was trying to go but wouldnt rev past about 5200. I know i was on here before and i had the issue with it doing the whole bog down thing and then it would hit 3000rpm and go.. like i said i still had the do the cleanings though, which since it will be nice tomorrow i am planning on doing. The thing with that is that a little after i posted that thread the problem went away Also the douchebag gas attendant the other day when this problem started did put regular in my car since he "didnt hear me say premium". I did clean the MAF today with the CNC cleaner but i havent taken it out on the road yet.

My other question is since i do plan on going Turbo once my car decides to behave itself, if ma MAF is bad should i just buy a z32 Maf now and throw that on. And what are the positives and negatives of doing this since i am not turbo yet.

Thanks in Advance for any help.

could be the maf going bad, i've heard when it is bad you won't rev past about 2-2500rpm.

Cops is brand new.. Less than 4 months old.. Starter is not even a month old yet.. Don't think that's it... The hard start isn't my major cause of concern it's my power loss.. But thanks anyway

Updated info to the problem

Drove it to work tonight and it did rev past 5200 but it was very lethargic. It was not the same get up and go that I kno and love.. I still haven't put gas in it though because I'm trying to burn the rest of the regular out.. Ummm... And in 5th gear I hit the gas and the car shakes.. Also I was goin up a hill in second gear and the car did this bucking thing all the way up the hill...
WTH...

Replace your maf, mine went bad at 190,000. I just bought one for 30 bucks from a member here on maxima.org!

It gets embarassing when you have to start your car fives times while idleing at a red light
Check your codes, you should have one if it messing up that bad.

MAF cleaned, Throttle body cleaned, IACV cleaned, EGR cleaned... Still have this problem.

Could it be my FPR???

Because like i said it sounds like it wants to go, but there is s hesitation with the revs, and it sounds like i have back pressure in my exhaust:co nfused:

After reading your first post it sounds like you're having starting issues with a brand new starter? Bad grounding is most likely your culprit. It could aslo be a bad mounted POS wire hooked to the solenoid switch. My friend had that problem on his Altima.

Try throwing in additional GND wires. Clean up the mounting surfaces of all the current GND wires and the ones you add on. I hand made several low guage ground wires. One went from the battery's NEG terminal straight to the starter's long mounting bolt. Starting the car went from taking several seconds down to 1 second.

i replaced the MAF and still have a power issue. There are still no codes though. The car will rev to 4000 rpm then it bogs, i shift it goes up to 4000 again and bogs... What the hell is going on. The hard start issue still is present also. Could this be a problem with the throttle position sensor?

vacuum leak?

i wouldnt mess with tps without a code dont want to mess up a good tps adjustment

with no codes, it might be worth dealer diag and you repair instead of guessing.

Good luck

Check the fuel pressure.
Check for a clogged cat, blocked exhaust.
Misfire's under load are usually ignition related. (weak spark)

before throwing $100 buck to the dealer throw a $30 MAF from someone here on it why not rule out the MAF if everything is pointing to it.

I just bought a Maf and replaced it last night.... although it has better response it still is bogging at 4000 rpm... Im kinda leaning toward njmaxseltd with the spark suggestion. I mean i replaced the plugs a year and a couple month ago with NGK iridiums. But i do alot of driving, highway majority.

I also read on here something about wrapping the coils because sometimes the boots sometimes tend to not seat properly. so i think i will try that before i change the plugs.
