Jeffs VB issue

I just installed the VB and ran it on the highway a couple of times and noticed the shifting but i have 1 issue. I redline at around 85 and i got the code for torque converter solenoid (po744). Anybody know what the issue is or if im missing something?

You redline at 85 mph? Sounds like your not getting out of 3rd gear.

If you plugged everything back in, then something else must be wrong.

85 MPH/redline is still second gear.

Here's mine with JWT 7200 at the top of second.

I know this is exactly what happend to my old tranny, I lost the Reverse and the codes I got were a p0744 s/v torque converter not locking up. I took out the VB did a cleaning and a rebuild and of course I had to get the new solinoid packs to make the car run like it did in drive but no reverse and the new packs took care of the problem and the car had no codes the car was shifting and driving good again.

Well its over, trans is messed up. I talked to Jeff yesterday and he said we should have took the old VB out in neutrel and installed. Now I have to do a rebuild and hope that this trans shop can save the VB. Yes I redlined at 85mph because I didn't have 3rd or 4th gear.

My 240+k 16 year old VQ doesn't mind regular trips that side of the tach.

Whats VB?

I know with the JWT u can deactivate the rev limiter. But dang, as we all know there is a point where the engine is bein overtaxed.

Its called a RED line for a reason, u know red as in stop lol

Besides dont our cars make all its power at 5k rpm???

Valve Body...

Jesus man, thought you would have known more than that being that you've been around long enough. You must just post *****.

Point 1: MEVI'd/00VI's cars make usable power to 7-7.2k

Point 2: It does not deactivate it, now that would be less than smart. JWT sets it at 7000, or, your choice, mine was 7200 like 85% of the people on here, when at the time, was the calculated # for people w/ MEVI's.

Hmm is Jeff telling you that the reason the tranny failed was because you removed the VB while the gear selector was in a gear other than neutral? I've done that and the only PITA about it was getting the VB back in, since it requires you send the VB up in an awkward position.

I told him it was hard for me to get it out of park and it felt like something popped when I did, so he said I might have bent the main valve. That's just 1 of many things that could have been wrong

Put your old VB back in if you still have it and see what happens.

Did you follow the VB write-up properly?
