Sorry I don't know the size, but I know that an empty Uncle Ben's box makes a nice tip (and it adds more HP than those ugly chrome ones)...

Bolt on tips look cheesy. You can always see the screws and also the stock tip in it. consider going to a muffler shop and having one welded on. It's pretty cheap...

- atleast shell out the extra $60 and buy an aftermarktet muffler. You can get some for under $80 (and please don't buy a cheery bomb... ).

well i would go out and buy a steel muffler, but those things make too much noise, and i just want something that will look nice from the rear end.

Um, if you guys really think i should get a weld on tip, i will, i just thought a bolt-on tip would be easier to install myself and save the extra time/cash to go and have a shop weld it on.

please suggest from the following weld tips then:
http://www.zauto1.com/SS_Weldon_Tips.html

The reason why im asking about the size is because i don't know if the tips go on outide/inside and how much extra room they need after the inital measure of the whole of stock muffler.

Wait let me get this straight. You want something that looks nice, and then in the next sentence you say you want a bolt on tip. You are contradicting yourself. Bolt on tips look lame as hell. Bolt on tips belong on 88 Berettas and 91 Escorts.

I didn't know that bolton tips looked messed up. The only reason i wanted to go with bolt-on's cuz they seemed easiest to put on and less time spent on.

Here's what I think you should do:

Get the PM-567 dual-tips and 2 PM-573's. Weld the 567 to your stock exhaust pipe, then have a 573 welded to each tip on the 567. This way, your tips are HUGE and they should stick out at least 10" behind your car. And don't even get me started on the performance increase of a setup like this... come to think of it, you may need to get an ECU upgrade, larger injectors, and fuel pump to handle it. Also, it would look really cool if you buy a couple PM-574's and weld those underneath the rear doors in front of the rear wheels, pointed down at a 15 degree angle and out at 30 degrees.

Good luck man,
Justin

hey,
Thanks for the very specific & accurate suggestion...

The only thing That i wouldn't like about this setup is that it will stick out as u say 10" ....I mean i don't wonna over do it in that aspect and also when someone on a low ride will try to park inback of me will break my tips off.
Another thing is that I don't really want to spend money on the other **** like ECU/pumps, etc..

Other then that, It would look cool and this is creative.

Dude I was just kidding with all that crap. Just get the 558, not too big or gaudy (but I still say it's a waste of $$$). No one will notice, your car won't be faster, nor will it handle any better.

OK, and it's apparent that you didn't catch my rice references... Rice is stuff on your car that makes it look faster/sportier, but really does nothing but make true performance enthusiasts cringe. This includes:

Stickers for components you don't have (in some cases components that aren't even available for the car they're on)
Badges for the "sports" model on the "base" model car (an Si-R badge on a bare-bones Civic DX)
Big-*** wings/body kits that just look retarded.
Fake intercoolers in front of the radiator.
Fake blow-off valve sound makers (this is ultimate rice).
Racing stripes on a daily driver.
Big-*** fake exhaust tips without the muffler/exhaust system.

These things serve no real purpose other than to make the driver think he has a race car.

So what I'm saying is if you really need to have a shiny exhaust tip, just get the smallest, most inconspicuous one you can find.

Lol, well it was a creative idea, i mean people said tips don't increase performance, so what u said kinda made little sense but i don't know any better ---. so......

Well you see I would get a stainless steel muffler instead of the tip, but its just too much trouble/time to put that on plus it makes noise.

So i want something that will look nice...so a tip is my best bet, am i right?
