Gotta re-do my oil pan gasket

I used Permatex Sensor-Safe Blue RTV Silicone Gasket Maker for the upper and lower oil pan.

http://www.permatex.com/products/Aut...sket_Maker.htm

I cleaned the surfaces so well, you could literally eat off of them. Apparently this gasket is leaking only a month or so after re-assembly.

I checked the torque on the oil pan bolts, and they are all good. I don't want to over torque them.

I gotta drop both oil pans again and use a different gasket maker. Which one would you recommend?

Do you happen to have the part number for that gasket maker from Nissan?

Thanks!

I believe the Nissan P/N is 1217H, but all you have to do is go to the dealer and ask for the liquid gasket.

Why the blue? Don't think I've ever used that stuff. Ultra Grey or Ultra Black and call it good.

IME they're better than the OE Nissan stuff, costs less, and much less visible than a bead of bright orange.

I just got back from having my oil changed, and the guy said he saw a slight build up around the oil pan gasket. After doing some reading on here, I guess it may be the oil sending unit?...but who knows. I check the oil somewhat regularly, and the guy said it was full when I brought it in, and that was a few thousand miles late too...I guess Ill just keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I used the blue stuff because it says it can be used for oil pans, etc.

they use a thicker compound agent in the black, the gray is ok but i'd stick with the higher heat/oil resisant black rtv.

Ultra Grey is a specific type of Permatex brand RTV.

The only Nissan RTV I've seen is the bright orange.
