today...
oh and as for method for painting them:
i used regular yellow 3/4" masking tape and 12" masking paper.
lifted up each handle and masked its perimeter, making sure to underlap the door handle.
then masked 12" in each direction around each handle. making sure to press all of the tape down all the way.
then scuffed each handle with p500 grit sandpaper.
finally, paint door handles with nice even light strokes with 50/50 overlap. make sure to get the underside of the handle too.

man you guys are gettin wayyy too ghetto on our cars. whatever happened to painting them at a shop??? and, i love my chrome door handles on my bm1 blue. would'nt paint them for a million bux!!
youre telling me im ghetto for not bringing my car to a shop to get the DOOR HANDLES painted flat black?
its been wrecked and is in the process of being fixed... which takes time when youre doing it yourself. the black paint rear of the front clip is all barely a year old... its just dirty from this weather...
as for the way i did it... its DuPont paint. i got from the SHOP i work at, where we use it for these EXACT reasons. Oxidized door molding trim, appliques, handles, midflaps, ect. a shop doesnt waste time in a paint booth for any thing trim black.
its cool once i paint it again itll be looking good.

From the looks of the picture you are bringing this 4th Gen back from the dead. The fender is obviously either brand new or it's been fixed, primed and is ready for paint. Everyone has to start somewhere, especially on a budget. I'm sure in the next year or two this OP will be posting pics of his sexy Max all painted and fixed up.
as for the door handles. I like the body color on the Max and the chrome on the i30. The i30 has more chrome trim on the body to help balance out the door handles.
