lowest you can drop a maxima?

I tried running a search, but couldn't find much info.

The question is what is the lowest you can drop a maxima without the use of a camber kit?
I currently have a 1.75" drop with Intrax springs and KYB shocks. Planning to cut the springs to drop more...any tips?

With springs...

You can go with Sprints ($120). They are a 2.0" drop and you do not need a camber kit. Take if from someone who has them. If you go with coilovers (250+), you can drop up to 3". However if ride with the 3" drop all the time you will neeed camber plates. The line of drop where you need and don't need camber plates has not really been defined.

Actually, the lowest suspension is on my car, and also on BigSadler's. We have air suspension on our cars, and my muffler sits about three inches off the ground (and that's maybe three)....

its not as good with the 2" drop, but its more cofortable, you just cant drive as fast....at highest point, really bouncy, all the way down, cant turn well....

I have this set up with intrax and cut coil on the front only

Is this what you want your car to look like? Then I would only cut one coil off and you wont need a camber kit. If you go any lower then you will need one. What coil do you cut? look under your fender well see the coils that touch each other is about 2-3 of them cut one of those off. I called intrax prior to cutting my springs and he recommended I cut one of those. If you dont want to spend $120.00 or $1800.00 then this is what I would do. My ride is still pretty good Cumalot can vouch for it he rode in my car.

You're right, the car is not as low as on Sprints. Once again Sprints are proven to be the lowest...

Sprints are not the lowest at all!! maybe just the fron is but the back defintly not. Ive seen in person that even my H&Rsits lower in the rear than Sprints do. I say get coilovers and be as low and even as you wanna be
Many people here have swapped out sprints for other springs due to harsh ride and un-even drop...

With 2-3 inches off the ground....why spend all that money? Take the springs out altogether.....you can drag your butt on the ground!

Point of an air suspension is to be able to drop and lift on demand. As I am doing fifty down a street, in less then a second, I can go from full drop (almost draggin *** on the ground) to full lift, and vice versa. And yes, the kits start at $1800 and go up to $2600.

I wish many people took their sprints off for I could have gotten a set , to put on my ride, but not to pist off NY96max, We want sprint springs they ride great Cumalot has got a set on his max and they ride just fine but Sprint and everyone else have been out of stock since early September and here it is Jan 02 around the corner no one has them in stock. For all you guys reading this dont BLAME THE ROUGH RIDE ON THE SPRINGS ITSELF, The question is what type of shock do you have to accomodate that spring is the question. I Highly recommend KONI ADJUSTABLES, and believe me I understand, that they cost $80 more dollars than the adj kybs, but they are well worth the money, and yes you have to modify just the front ones but is worth it, ask anyone that has them. I cant comment on the coilovers at all but to let everyone know when this kid from colorado mails my weapon R coilovers I ll post my opinion on coilovers and you guys can roll with that and many other opinions.

Mikemax I only scrape say I am coming out of gas station and going towards the street is at a steep angle because once again not smooth exit then I might scrape the front lip, but if you come out an angle then it wont scrape. You wont scrape on speed bumps at all at least I havent and when I go to the mall my wifes in the car. Here it is once you cut this one coil youll have the best of both worlds you ll have a sprint drop in the front and a intrax drop in the back. It looks nice, do not cut your rears at all seriously. , if you need help let me know it is very simple you can cut your coil with a dremel with a black cutting wheel.

I had In-Trax and they were able to bring the alignment back to specs.

I had GC's & that needed more then camber plates (I was dropped all teh way).

I now use Sprints and got my alignment. They guy brought it as close to spec as possible but camber bolt would have been good. I am takin it that for Sprints, i would get camber bolts.

Synki for camber all you had to do was loosen both 17mm bolts that hold the shock (where the camber bolt would go), and do one side at a time when you jack your car the shock will lean towards you giving back that camber there for your tires dont get worn on the inside.
