Wierd sounds when start up
It only happens when my car has been sitting for about 5hrs or more.
It's a wierd sound. It kinda sounds like the grinding of the starter but it isn't that, I checked. I thought it was because I was low in oil, it also wasn't that. But it does sound like metal grinding. I have no clue on what it could be. Has this ever happend to any of you guys/girls? If so what was it?
Thanks,
NeL

Well my 96 maxima is making that grinding metal sound occasionally. It started ever since the weather is getting cold and when i change my battery. I don;t know what;s wrong. either the battery doesnt enough cold cranking power or maybe my starter need to be replaced.

My 95 makes the same sound when i turn it on and only recently (since it has strted getting cold) it has started making the sounds. Could it be the battery or starter? I gotta get that fixed 'cause when there's girls in my car weird noises are embarassing.
