Painted my brake calipers

For whatever reason that brembo gold color seems to hold up the best against getting dirty and dusty from daily driving. My bbk kit is painted actual brembo gold, I had to custom make it at my paint shop but it holds up real well along with a clear coat. Then again I actually clean my brakes every once in a while.

I'm not sure why they are calling it Brembo anything. It's VHT High Temperature Bronze, Not gold. I actually parked next to an STi last night with Bronze Brembo's and the color is very different. Both bronze but the VHT seems to be a bit brighter then the Brembo color.

I like it. I thought of doing mine some time ago and then got lazy. I like the wheels on your car. They look good. I saw your car at smiths parking lot couple weeks ago. I even parked my maxima next to yours

I actually helped my buddy spray his last week. We did the same blue on his Maxima. Turned out great. I don't have any pictures or I'd post them.

infinimax96 i like the bronze you went with .. it looks good!!
But dayuuuuuuuum 95Maxed's Yellow ones are HOT!! Good job man!
I did mine a while back and i went with red, i did the brackets too.. I swapped pads, rotors, and rebuilt the calipers when i did mine.. I had a frozen rear caliper that was farkin up my gas mileage~
Man i miss those rims.. at least they went to another org member.
The max is on the back burner until i work out some finance issue im currently bombarded with but i was thinking of powder coating my calipers to another color! Something around the gold/brass/yellowish hue! Something that matches my bc coilover colors. Not that i have regrets about red! I think red looks great! I didnt have coilovers when i did these tho..
Anyone powder coat calipers before? Ive never powder coated "calipers" I wonder if its recommended.

Red does look good on black. It looks good in general. I have nothing against the color just how commonly it's used. It's way over used on brake calipers. I wanted to be the outsider rebel that doesn't follow the crowed and do something different.
I should rebuild my calipers too. Those look damn nice with the new bolts and all cleaned up.

I removed the calipers and plugged the hoses when I painted them last March but that wasn't enough because the parking brake cable bracket on the right rear caliper froze last night.
When I painted them last year I taped off the piston head, guide pin bolt slots, and the cable bracket. Before mounting the calipers I should have thrown more grease on those cable brackets. The cable bracket froze due to it being 20F outside and not well lubricated.
Those refurbished calipers have a lifetime warranty at autozone so I turned both rear calipers in and got another set for free. This time I disassembled and degreased the parking brake brackets.
When I'm done painting these calipers should I throw white lithium, marine, or brake grease on those parking brake cable levers and cam? Brake grease will keep them from freezing but it doesn't seem as water resistant as white lithium or marine?

I've had great success with the Dupli-color silver caliper paint. I replaced the rears a year ago and painted them before installing them. I did three coats on everything and they still look great today. I'll post pictures showing them freshly painted and a year later.

Its highly recommended! lol I powder coat alot of calipers. These are some Altima SER calipers that I recently powder coated with a base of red powder, applied the mylar decals, and then applied a clear topcoat to protect the decals/calipers. I am still working on the hardware....powder coating it all satin black with a bare metal clear coat for the ultimate protection from brake fluid etc. I am about to do another set in a deep switch back blue.
What they looked like when i got them:
What they look like now:
In this pic it shows how the decal looks like it is raised rather than just flat by applying an additional coat of clear powder

thats a lie. chipping comes from ****ty prep work. the more clearcoat, the better UV protection there is. dont spread misinformation.

If you guys want to rice up your calipers, just get these:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Brembo-S...4693e8&vxp=mtr
UNDER $10!!! DIFFERENT COLORS!!! lol!!! I'm personally painting my calipers black or silver when my new rims get in. "Brembo" colored calipers (red, yellow, etc.) are definitely in the rice category in my opinion.

Duplicolor caliper paint comes in a brush on as well as a spray, so it's easy to use if you don't want to pull your calipers.
