After fixing ignition/steering wheel lock, turning key does not start car

I hope you trimmed some of the tape off. It will make a sticky mess and will probably pull out of the switch eventually if not.

After reading all of this. I went over to help my brother on his maxima and his is actually alot worse of a problem. We changed the ignition switch and the car still wont make the starter go. We jumped the starter and it works fine. The ground wire near the starter gets so hot too. I wonder if anyone can point out the grounds on a maxima that may affect the starter? Any ideas?

Also the car was starting fine before our deployment. It has a 3.5 5spd if that helps? I am thinking maybe a bad ground. How about the battery negative ground? Locations of where it should ground on the motor? I have it just above the slave cylinder near the front cylinder head.

ignition turns, broken key lock cylinder, car won't start.
My key lock cylinder was broken after an attempted theft and i couldn't get the car started. I took apart my ignition assembly to get to the actual ignition switch, but when i turn the ignition switch, the car still wont start. it turns but still won't start. Any help?
