Bro, you dont have to explain yourself to him. Your finances are your own business. Obviously if youre planning on modding your car more you feel comfortable doing so, and that shouldnt concern anyone else.

Lol yeah i know that. I was just pointing out the obvious... its not like im going all out and emptying my bank account on my car. My family always comes first. My car is my oassion/obsession/hobby...if you ask the wifey shell say obsession LOL. But i think in the long haul a 3.5 swap is probably going to happen... only because my body and undercarriage is almost perfect aside from a small hole in front and rear bumper...besides that a car payment?? Been there with my 5th gen..paid 10k overall and sold for 3k...worth it? Hell no paid 700 for mine and will eventually make money on it no matter what... i could flip it as it sits now for 3400-4000 easily around here... but why do that when where i live everyone sees civics and celicas etc etc... my max is unique LOL

I wouldn't pay 600-800 for a set of headers either. I'm talking OBX 3.5 headers or a set of $130 altima headers off of ebay. You will have to make a y pipe for the altima headers, though. Both will run you less than $400.

What about tuning it? That alone gives a good increase in power.

a 3.5 that runs correctly will walk all over a 3.0 with the same mods. i say "that runs correctly" because it seems like a lot of the guys that do the swaps do something wrong and they end up being about as fast as a 3.0 car for some reason.

Yea well to get it to run correctly one would need all the sensors properly functioning along with emissions..or..at least most of it and trust me if i do this vuild everything will be legit. If it takes me year then whatever because once its done it will be worth it especially considering the fact that a guy here in town got a eclipse with "stroker" motor and biger turbo with standalone...aling the line of 370 awhp

Bro a boost build will run you well over a $1000. Im not sure if anyone has said that yet but before you go thinking that its cheap, its not lol. Not to discourage you or anything just trying to make sure your aware that it cost a pretty penny.

there is something you can do also . you can swap and boost at the same time . you can get 3.5 and built it for turbo ( thicker head gasket + low compression pistons for more boost ) + 3.0 timing items + turbo requirement .
collect and then build . you will get your car to higher level .
and you still can keep your stock 3.0 running while you are building your new engine .
if you really want to boost take your time on building your engine and don't rush . read and think and read and think .

If I have the chance to go back three years , I would do what I have sayed to you .

I agree 100% with this. No replacement for displacement considering all variables are the same.

Also, if the swap is done correctly, it can be just as reliable as a bone stock 3.0 as a daily driver.

Must not be much of a kit. An EMS will run around 600.00 alone.
For another 400.00 Id think it would be hard to find a decent turbo, inj,BOV, and etc.

if there was no BOV or anything that is why it was so cheap. I know you have said your going to go with the 3.5 swap but just for further reference, make sure if looking into the turbos that you know completely what your getting into. If it is just the three things you said it is going to cost a lot more for everything else. I think as a DD your making the right choice. BTW I like your Max
