Help! Electrical / MAF Wiring issue!!

I searched around, and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Basically the MAF sensor wiring plug has three wires - one of them had a short/something wrong and a shop replaced the wire that goes into the plug. Well a few months later and that wire has pulled itself out, obviously a shoddy replacement.

So how can I fix this permanently? The other two wires seem to have some rubber weather-"proof" nubs in there... I assume that's something I should get from the stealership? Is there some way I can rig it so it'll work in the meantime...?

Thanks!!

(Pics to follow if necessary...)

Huh. Dunno if this forum is dead or if I just asked the wrong question...

I fixed it. Gorilla glue and patience won in the end.

First of all, LOL. I don't know how "this is me" but it's pretty funny nonetheless.

Second, I was looking for advice on how these plugs work. I figured that's what this forum was for... advice on things that are not known by you, but hopefully known by others. Y'know, a forum to ask questions...? Crazy concept.

I've never been able to figure out how to fix these plugs, and I'm still a little frustrated that I had to resort to Gorilla glue. It worked, but isn't pretty - and I'd still like to hear a better way, rather than a post about how I don't know what I'm talking about. Thanks.

If I read your post correctly you need a new plug for your MAF.

1) Travel to your local pick and pull junk yard.

2) Find a maxima.

3) Cut the MAF plug off the subharness, leaving as much wire as possible. (JY car)

4) Cut the old MAF plug off. (Your car)

5) Splice the JY plug into your existing MAF subharness. Be sure to seal the splices with heat shrink thingys or butt connectors and electrical tape.

Good luck.
