4th gen maxima and i30 interchangeable body parts question

Hey, all!

A deer decided to commit suicide last night, and my wife (in here i30) gladly assisted it.

We're looking at the following parts:

pass fender
possibly hood
possibly front bumper
pass headlight and fog light.
both airbags
windshield

are any of those parts interchangeable from the maxima?

thank you all, drive safe!

Fenders, hood, front bumper, headlights and fogs are different between the i30 and the 4th gen maxima. The aibags and the windshield are interchangeable between the two cars.

the front end parts are not interchangeable... well, not direct fit exactly since the body style is slightly different. not to say you couldnt swap over an entire front end from the max but that would be dumb.

what color is the i30? me and a couple buddies could prolly scope out an i30 with matching parts. they are abundant round here... and your not to far from us

no problemo, assuming im not broke as a joke this sunday ill try n hit up the jy n scope some stuff out.

worst case, we can get you the parts cheap but in the wrong color. *white is actually a little harder to find... green, maroon, beige are easiest. black, white, blue, dark grey and silver are hardest*

oh, i do know airbags run like 45 a pop... no core charge or anything. oh, and the center steering wheel airbag is different from 97-99 or 95-96 so wed need to know that.

96-97 and 98-99 airbags, Nels. I've got a tan one for the steering wheel I don't need. I'll let it go for 30.

How about 80 + shipping for everything? I'll have to see how much shipping is going to be. PM me your number and I'll send you some pics tomorrow when I can get them out of the boxes.

pm'd. what about the passenger's airbag? will one from a max fit? if so, which year?
i was at a jy yesterday, looking to remove one. dropped the glove box, but didn't have the fancy sockets to remove the bolts for the airbag. furthermore, it seemed like there would be no room to take it off, unless you have to take the top cover off and take it from above. am i correct?

also, would an airbag module need replacement after the impact? i don't see why, but let me know

You'll need a T50 tamper resistant security torx bit for the airbags. The passenger side bag comes out from the top after the bolts have been removed and the yellow plug has been unplugged. The steering wheel has an access cover on the left, and you'll have to pull off the cruise control buttons to get to the t50 bolts there. I'm not sure about the airbag module though.

got the airbags and airbag module off ebay today. does the module or other sensors trip the bags to go off in a collision? just wondering, since i don't want these to pop right after i replace them lol
would i need to get a new clock springs as well?
thank you, all!

This thread is from 2011.

BUT, for an I30, I'd recommend buying headlights from the European Maxima QX

NOTE: the European Maxima uses the same headlights as the US I30

You can get glass headlights from the European Maxima that will fit perfect on your I30. Glass doesn't yellow

eBay item numbers 190589731158 and 190589731189

They use H4 bulbs instead of 9004, so you will need adapters. You can get them from rallylights.com
